If you were born between 1945 and 1964, you are now being labelled as a 'baby boomer'.
Recognizing that you are part of this unique generation is extremly important.
Realizing the implications of being a 'baby boomer' is vital to your health and well being.
Part One: Facts for baby boomers to ponder
1. You are part of the generation of children born in the years of major transition immediately following World War II.
2. In the year 2005, millions of 'baby boomers' turned 60 years of age or older.
3. The set of values that you grew up with may or may not be the same as those of the children born before the war. They may also differ from the set of values of the children born after the year 1964.
4. The post war years focused on peace and prosperity, as well as growth and development in North America.
5. During these years there was a major influx of people from all over the world into North America.
6. This era represents a time of serious committment to progress in terms of academic pursuit and employment opportunity.
7. This sixty years represents a time in which there was a major shift in the economy of the world in general and a time of economic change in North America.
8. There were also major resource pools to draw from during this 60 year period.
9. Major transitions took place in terms of communication and transportation, as well as in other areas like health, education and technology.
